Southern Endocrinology Appointments

Patient Policies and Additional Information.

Below is some general information about patient policies to help you with your visit. If you have any questions please contact us here.

Do you charge for filling out forms?

There is a $25 fee for filling out FMLA forms, which is due at the time of submission. Please allow 10 business days for form completion. We do not fill out disability forms but can submit your medical records if required.

How long does it take for prior authorizations?

Prescribed medications may require prior authorization from your health insurance, which could take 7-21 business days. Southern Endocrinology will try expediting the process, approval is not guaranteed. If denied, we can discuss alternative medication that may be covered by your insurance and are appropriate for your treatment.

Refills

Patients are required to have a follow-up appointment every 3-6 months/1 year. These appointments must be kept to be eligible for medication refills. This ensures that patients are regularly monitored for any changes in their condition or medication needs, and it helps maintain continuity of care.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately. For non-urgent requests, use the patient portal or app to send a secure message, and we will respond within 24-48 hours. We also have a doctor on call at all times.
