What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept a wide range of insurance plans from major providers. To verify your insurance contact our office. For HMO plans, ensure that your primary care doctor sends us a referral before your visit.

How do I schedule my appointment?

You can schedule an appointment through our website or by calling the clinic. Healow app can also be used. Our practice code is: ABBDAA.

What do I need to bring to my first appointment?

Please bring ID, Insurance Card, Payment for visit and a list of your current medications, lab results or imaging reports (from the last 3-6 months).

Why do I need to complete paperwork in advance?

While our clinic tries to operate paperless, completing your new patient paperwork in advance allows us to gather necessary details before your appointment, ensuring that your visit is as smooth and efficient as possible.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Paperwork: You’ll likely fill out some forms, including your medical history, insurance details, and possibly your personal contact information.

Payment: Any and all payment(s) are due at time of service.

Initial Assessment: A nurse or other healthcare professional may take your vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, weight, and height.

Consultation with the Doctor: The doctor will ask about your current health, concerns, and any symptoms you’re experiencing. They may perform an examination or ask for tests such as sudo scan, sonogram, eye exam or blood work.

Follow-up Plan: After your consultation, you might be given instructions on follow-up appointments, medications, or referrals to specialists.

What should I do if I’m running late for my appointment?

Call or send a message to inform them that you’re running late. Provide an updated estimate of your arrival time.

Depending on your provider’s schedule, you may need to be rescheduled.

No Show Fee(s)

Our Practice is dedicated to quality care and exceptional service. We respect the importance of your time and work very hard to schedule appointments that accommodate the busy scheduling needs of all our patients.

In return, we ask that patients make every effort not to change reserved medical appointments and give us time to cancel or reschedule if necessary. A $50.00 charge will be applied for no show or canceled appointments without a 24-hour advanced notification.

How do I make payments, and when are they due?

All copayments and deductibles are due at your appointment. You will receive a secure payment link via email or patient portal. Payments can be made by link, Healow, mail, in person.

What in-office procedures do you offer?

We offer in-office procedures such as thyroid ultrasounds and thyroid nodule biopsies. SUDO Scan, Eye Exams and In House Lab.

Appointments

What do I need to bring to my follow-up appointment?

  • Please bring ID, Insurance Card, Payment for visit and a list of your current medications, lab results or imaging reports (from the last 3-6 months).
  • For follow-up visits, please make sure to bring in your updated medication list, and any updated lab results or imaging reports. Ensure all required lab work is completed at least 1 week prior to your follow-up so that we can discuss the results during your visit.
  • If applicable, share any new symptoms or changes in your condition since your last appointment

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Cancellations or rescheduling must be done via the website or patient portal at least 24-48 hours in advance. This helps us accommodate other patients who may need care. No Show Fee: New Patient no show fee is 150.00, follow up no show appointments are 50.00

Do you offer telemedicine services?

  • Yes, we provide telemedicine appointments for follow-ups and consultations that don’t require in-person visits. These can be easily scheduled through our staff.
  • Please note that we will verify with your insurance beforehand to confirm coverage for telehealth visits. If your insurance does not cover televisits, we also offer a cash pay option for your convenience. If your insurance doesn’t cover this type of visit, you will be charged: 75.00

How can I access my medical records?

Please call our office for any records you are requesting so we can direct you properly.

How do I request prescription refills?

Prescription refills can be requested directly through your pharmacy, or you can send a secure message via the patient portal or Healow. You may also call our office. We process these requests as quickly as possible.

Patient Policies & Additional Information

Do you charge for filling out forms?

There is a $25 fee for filling out FMLA forms, which is due at the time of submission. Please allow 10 business days for form completion. We do not fill out disability forms but can submit your medical records if required.

How long does it take for prior authorizations?

Prescribed medications may require prior authorization from your health insurance, which could take 7-21 business days. Southern Endocrinology will try expediting the process, approval is not guaranteed. If denied, we can discuss alternative medication that may be covered by your insurance and are appropriate for your treatment.

Refills

Patients are required to have a follow-up appointment every 3-6 months/1 year. These appointments must be kept to be eligible for medication refills. This ensures that patients are regularly monitored for any changes in their condition or medication needs, and it helps maintain continuity of care.

What should I do in case of an emergency?

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 immediately. For non-urgent requests, use the patient portal or app to send a secure message, and we will respond within 24-48 hours. We also have a doctor on call at all times.
